Having worked in the reinsurance market for six years before moving into Insurance and Reinsurance Recruitment (and latterly Executive Search) in 1994, Mark founded Stephens Selection in 2009; in 2018 the company was renamed Stephens Rickard Ltd following Rupert Rickard’s appointment as a Partner. Mark has a track record of completed mandates across all Board/Executive Committee disciplines with Broking and Underwriting leadership roles being a particular forte. Originally, Mark’s client basewas mainly in the UK, but increasingly his focus has become global, with completed mandates in Bermuda, New York, Chicago, Sydney and Zurich as well as Paris and Cologne. He works with investors, risk carriers, brokers/intermediaries and professional services firms on a variety of projects.
Rupert joined Stephens International, now Stephens Rickard, in March 2014 to enhance the firm’s already strong coverage of the (Re)Insurance markets. He brings over fifteen years of international search experience, having successfully completed mandates across Asia Pac, EMEA and North America. Prior to joining Stephens Rickard, Rupert was a Partner at a leading (Re)Insurance recruitment boutique and a Managing Consultant at a specialist recruitment firm in London and subsequently New York, where he established the P&C practice. Rupert began his career trading fixed income derivatives for a prominent futures trading house. He is a graduate of the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne.
